High-quality stropping strap / honing strap for straight razors. The hanging strap is equipped with sturdy metal eyelets. The honing strap is used to straighten the burr on the straight razor. Stropping should be done at a shallow angle with the back of the blade resting on the strap, pointing away from the body in the direction of the stroke. When changing the blade, the knife should be rotated over the back and then drawn back toward the body—always against the cutting edge! Changing direction across the cutting edge causes it to become rounded (convex) and lose its sharpness. Professional regrinding is then necessary.
